Imagine a cauldron inspired by the blues foundations of RL Burnside and Muddy Waters, the rock of Led Zeppelin and Hendrix, and the psychedelic sounds of The Doors and The Velvet Underground. Nader’s rock and blues influences formed the foundation of the songs, but the flavors of the Middle East took everything to another world. With this enlightened mindset, a new sound came forth on the band’s EP ‘Nowhere Everywhere’. From that point forward, the songs of The Wanton Bishops slowly emerged from the Delta swamps into the Lebanese mountains, evolving into an ethnic stew that told his story, reflecting his homeland, his people, his personal journey.
